Important activities at a glance

The BioCon Valley® Initiative was established with the goal to facilitate the commercialization of research results in the field of modern life sciences. Our activities focus on following four fields:

. Management of the BioCon Valley® Network
BioCon Valley® is the central contact point for life sciences and health care management in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. At our offices, companies and promoters of new enterprises, as well as research institutions and universities receive quick and competent consultation. Our monthly newsletter (BioLOG-Nachrichten, in German only) and BioCon Valley® – seminars (BioCon Valley® – Treff) keep you informed on current developments.

. Operation of a Sector-Specific Technology Center
BioCon Valley® is the operator of the BioTechnikum Greifswald. The specialized centers (“bioincubators”) offer young technologically oriented companies offices and laboratories for settlement. Tenants benefit from the centers’ state-of-the-art infrastructure, including access to the common laboratories and to the competent support on sight.

. Realization and Management of Projects
BioCon Valley® supports its partners in specific fields with own projects. These are geared towards particular demands, and range from specific topics such as aquaculture, agrobiotechnology or health care management, to multidisciplinary issues such as questions concerning education and further training.

. Public Relations and Marketing
BioCon Valley® renders public relations for the region and for its universities, research institutions and businesses. We compose current press releases, keep in touch with regional and national media, and promote the region at sector specific exhibitions and conferences. BioCon Valley® is a member of idw-online, the German information system for sciences. With this membership, regional news from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern attract national and international attention.
